Assessment Procedure of Suburban Land Attractiveness and Usability for Housing

The process of urban development is accompanied by spatial and structural changes in land use caused by the development of residential quarters, industrial and service areas. In order to streamline the decision-making process concerning the justifiability and cost-effectiveness of such investments, the authors propose a methodological approach in the form of a spatial decision support system. The procedure developed in this project, based on an integrated spatial area assessment, supported by the Geographic Information System, is an important part of the spatial decision support system. The application of the procedure will result in preparing "maps of attractiveness and usability", which take into account the investment potential of the areas, presented for the commune of Stawiguda as an example.
