In order to solve the problem of compound corrosion in the condition with H2S, CO2 and high salinity, the materials with the same strength and same grade of L245 and L360 listed in the GB/T 9711.1-3 were selected for ground surface construction in a pilot exploitation zone with the annual productivity of 1 bcm in the X gas field. However, this also brought inconvenience for the project designers because in the GB/T 9711 the definition of the yield limit is very different from that either in the GB150's Steel Pressure Vessels or the book of Pipeline Material Training-Pressure Pipe Materials, the requirement for inspection is relatively low, and the pressure applicable scope is not clearly described. Therefore, a discussion was made on the definition of σ(subscript s) in the GB/T9711 and the GB150's Steel Pressure Vessels and its influence on the calculation of long-distance pipelines. In view of the applicable pressure scope of tubular materials, a comparative analysis was made among GB/T 9711, GB/T 8163, GB/T 9948, GB 5310 and GB 6479, and some positive proposals were presented here for the present use of GB/T 9711.This discussion is of great practical value in practical use of tubular materials and pressure vessels in natural gas pipeline projects.
