AFAN, a tool for the automatic synthesis of neural and fuzzy controllers with architecture optimization

This paper presents a tool for hardware synthesis of neural and fuzzy systems. The proposed tool, called AFAN, pays special attention to the architecture of the controller. AFAN deals with different kinds of hardware parallelism and with the interconnection between the internal blocks. A set of fully worked examples are provided in order to show the solutions provided by AFAN with different specifications.
