Dynamic Characteristics Analysis of Piezoelectric Six-Degree-of-Freedom Accelerometer1

It is difficult to study the dynamic characteristics of a piezoelectric six-degree-of-freedom (six-DOF) accelerometer that plays an important role in its study. To realize the estimation, active design of the dynamic characteristics of a piezoelectric six-DOF accelerometer, its dynamic characteristics are studied. According to the working principle and structural characteristics of the piezoelectric six-DOF accelerometer, a dynamic mathematical model of the proposed six-DOF accelerometer is constructed, and the natural frequency of the accelerometer is obtained. Next, using a numerical simulation model [finite-element model (FEM)] the amplitude-frequency response characteristics of the proposed six-DOF accelerometer is estimated. Finally, an experimental verification method is developed for its dynamic characteristics of the proposed six-DOF accelerometer, and the natural frequency of the proposed six-DOF accelerometer is also obtained. Research results show that the natural frequency in A_x, A_y, A_z, α_x, α_y, and α_z directions of the piezoelectric six-DOF accelerometer were 7.65, 7.60, 18.30, 17.30, 17.30 and 7.60 kHz, and the results of the numerical simulation method were consistent with the test results.
