Facilitated Passive Copper(ii) Ion-transport Through Binary-liquid Membrane

Facilitated passive transport of Cu(II) through binary liquid membranes of variable composition has been studied in steady state conditions. It is shown that transport kinetics obeys the competitive preferential solvation(COPS) theory in the whole concentration range. The geometric-electronic structure of the metal ion-carrier complex seems to play a decisive role in the preferential solvation.
