An architecture for multimedia over ATM real-time environments

The binding architecture of multimedia networks is a versatile structure which permits an easy development over heterogeneous environments. There is evidence suggesting that the quality of many videoconferences is mediocre because of unexpected cell loss rates. Specific features of real time operating systems are used to improve the efficiency of the data transmission in a multimedia binding architecture by an adaptive control over the quality of service parameters of the source.
