The Sultan's Messenger: Cultural Constructions of Ottoman Telegraphy, 1847-1880

Cet article decrit la ligne de telegraphe reliant Istanbul a Fao d'une longueur de 1800 miles reliant ainsi la Grande-Bretagne a l'Inde. Cette construction avait un double objectif, servir l'empire britannique dans son expansion commerciale vers l'Asie et assister les turcs dans la consolidation du controle de leur propre empire.
