A Software Implemetation of AFDX End System

With the rapid development of advanced data transmission technologies in avionics fields, AFDX (Avionics Full Duplex Switched Ethernet) shows great potential in on-board avionics system because of its high bandwidth and real-time property. In this paper, we present a feasible software framework to implement AFDX protocol on VxWorks Operating System. Additional improvements are made to enhance the performance of the system, such as the integration of traffic shaper and VL scheduler, provision of better solution to ES reset problem. The simulative result proves that the framework works effectively with excellent performance and meets the real-time requirements of avionics data transmission.
