Fault estimation and fault tolerant control for T-S fuzzy systems

This article addresses the problems of fault tolerant control (FTC) and fault estimation (FE) for T-S fuzzy systems with immeasurable premise variables, faults, and external disturbances. First, two observers are established, which are used for estimate the disturbance and fault signals, respectively. The merits of the proposed observers are that the observers have stable error dynamics, even if they are subjected to the structured uncertainties. Further, according to the information of the fault and disturbance, a controller, which can use the estimation information provided by observers, is built to make certain that the system state is asymptotic stable and compensate the effect of the faults and the disturbances. An example are provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
