Path loss characteristics of indoor radio channels at 15 GHz

Achieving a high data rate is one of the key challenges for the next-generation wireless communication systems. This goal requires large bandwidth which is only available at high frequency band. For any wireless system, the ultimate performance limit is determined by the propagation channel. In this paper, measurement-based characterization for corridor channel at 15 GHz with 1 GHz bandwidth is presented. Path loss exponent is found to range from 1.57 to 1.69, which implies a waveguide effect in this scenario. Standard deviation of shadow fading ranges from 1.67 dB to 2.65 dB. Our results are useful for the future radio network planning at 15 GHz frequency band.
