A measurement system of flexion and extension of the hand joints based on accelerometers

This work presents the development of a range of motion measurement system to record angular displacements of hand joints in flexion and extension. The instrumentation is based on micromachined accelerometers, each placed on proximal and distal phalanges of the fingers. This will allow the application without matter of the hand size. Accelerometer signals are acquired by using USB ports and processed by a graphical interface designed in LabVIEW platform.
