Contact dermatitis from chamomile tea

Case Report A 50-year-old metalworker developed acute eczema on his forearms and hands which cleared with topical corticosteroids. The patient used a product in his workplace to clean metallic items, which gave him an irritant reaction on his forearms and hands, so for 2 months before presentation, he had been washing and applying compresses with German chamomile tea on his forearms and hands, and later with a tea made of German chamomile, Roman chamomile and mallow herbs. He had no personal or family history of atopy, but had psoriasis. He was patch tested, using Finn Chambers and Scanpor tape, with the Portuguese standard series, paints and plants series, his own contactants and the teas, with the following positive results:
