Parallel processor for the simulation of adaptive networks

A multiprocessor computer for the simulation of adaptive networks is considered. The system uses parallel processing to speed-up the execution of adaptive-network algorithms, and thereby facilitates subsequent research and development of adaptive network architectures and algorithms. The multiprocessor system contains 128 Intel 8088 microprocessors, which are controlled by a single 80286-based master computer either individually, or all at once. An adaptive network algorithm for pattern recognition was hosted on the system to demonstrate the parallelism and increased speed of identification. The system is currently being used to host new representation formats which require the greater computing power supplied by parallel computing.<<ETX>>
