An Optimal Sensor Placement Methods Based on the Effective Independence Method

In order to solve the problem about optimal placement of sensors in bridge structure health monitoring,the effective independence method based on the Fisher information matrix had been studied in this paper.First,the optimal approaches have been deduced in theory.Then,with the background of a steel truss,the optimal approaches were used for sensor placement and their effects were evaluated according to the modal assurance criteria.Last,the results show that the effective independence method can retain much information about structure and it can reflect structural character better.
