A general S-DVR symmetrical model and implementation

Step Dynamic Voltage Regulators, commonly known as S-DVR in related literature, are becoming more popular on distribution systems everywhere in the world, especially because it's great advantages if compared to the conventional mechanical tap-changer, which has a series of technical restrictions such as the commutation time and maintenance. Besides, S-DVR has a high cost benefit for regulating terminal voltage if compared to other power electronics based equipment. In this term, this paper proposes an analytical set of equations for modeling any kind of S-DVR so far and a general implementation example of an S-DVR20 on PSCAD environment to be installed in a distribution network in Brazil.
