Process optimisation using predictive control:application to a simulated reaction system

Abstract A predictive control algorithm which attempts to optimise the steady-state operating conditions of the process is presented. The algorithm is based on an adaptive linear state space model of the process together with receding horizon optimal control solutions. The algorithm is applied for the optimisation of a simulated chemical reaction system.
