Max-min Placement optimization for UAV Enabled Wireless Powered Networks with Non-linear Energy Harvesting Model

In this paper, we investigate the placement optimization for unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) enabled wireless powered transfer network under the non-linear energy harvesting model. To maintain fairness among users, we propose a max-min energy harvesting problem by optimizing the UAV’s placement based on a non-linear energy harvesting model. As the max-min problem is a non-convex problem, it is difficult to achieve the optimal solution efficiently. We propose two natural optimization algorithms based on bat algorithm and ant colony optimization algorithm to solve the max-min placement problem. Simulation results show that the two natural optimization algorithms are superior to the traditional grid search algorithm in terms of computation time.
