A FIRST DESIGN OF PHASE II OF DART

DART is concerned with the information provided to a driver and to the Traffic Advisory Center (TAC) in connection with incidents, both expected and unexpected. The DART project is planned in three phases distinguished by the technologies involved, and the services provided. This report established an initial design for Phase II, which assumes two- way communication between the vehicle and the TAC, the availability of AVL information, and effective traffic modelling so as to predict future link traversal times.
