연비 개선을 위한 엑티브 에어 플랩 시스템 개발

Engine cooling systems are usually designed to meet two rare and extreme conditions; driving at maximum speed and driving up a specified gradient at full throttle. At all other times, the cooling system operates below its maximum capacity with an incurred drag penalty. In this study, it is being suggested that the system controls the cooling airflow through the radiator according to various operating conditions of the vehicle. According to the experiment, this system has three advantages; aerodynamic drag reduction (6.5%), fuel efficiency improvement (1.2~3.9%) and engine warm up time reduction (23%).
