Measurement of 182 Hz interharmonics and their impact on relay operation

Disturbance phenomena in power systems can have a detrimental effect on the performance of electric equipment. This paper shows an example of a measured disturbance. Various measurement connections are tested to locate the source of disturbance: a 182 Hz voltage component used by the local utility for signaling purposes. The possible impact of the disturbance on protective relays is assessed.
