Optimal rate allocation algorithm based on Jointing Source-Channel Coding

In this paper,to study effective and reliable transmission of video data through wireless channels,a novel rate allocation algorithm based on Jointing Source-Channel Coding(JSCC) is proposed.When the network bandwidth is determinate,an error resilience term of decoder is added to the rate-error evaluation function for a tradeoff among source coding,channel coding and error resilience capability.Then an optimal rate allocation algorithm is carried out to achieve maximal decoder code length and the best delivery quality.Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm achieves better performance than pure JSCC rate allocation systems,thus it is suitable for transmitting video streaming over the wireless networks.
