Dissipation-energy system with multilevel variable-stiffness

To further improve the performance of a general metal dissipation-energy device, a dissipation-energy device with multilevel variable-stiffness is proposed. After introduction of mechanism of action and establishment of a restoring force model for energy dissipator, an analysis program has been compiled with structural linearity of the dissipator taken into consideration, and the shock absorbing effect of the dissipation-energy system was analyzed. The results of experiment and analysis indicated that the dissipation-energy device with multilevel variable-stiffness has beautiful dissipation-energy capacity, and it can decrease the basic manufacturing cost of the system.
