Human foot medical image segmentation based on level set algorithm with fast marching

Aimed at the shortcoming of the running slowly and edge leak in level set algorithm,introduced into the fast marching step in the level set algorithm,a completely technical route for the human foot skeleton image segmentation is presented: First,repair the light-slice image’s noise and strengthen the boundary;second,set the primary segment-point and parameter,run the improved level set algorithm to extract the skeleton;third,using the morphological open operation to repair the breakage and sting in the edge.Ex-periments have been shown the accuracy and robustness of the algorithm,the running speed can be increased to 19%~36% compared with the classic level set algorithm.
