Effect of crystallization in polyethylene terephthalate electrets

The crystallization has an effect on the decay lifetime of the homocharge and thermally stimulated currents (TSC) in polyethylene terephthalate electrets. The charge decay was measured over the temperature range from 100 to 140°C for the films with various degrees of crystallinity. TSC spectra were measured with the contactless electrode. The results indicate that the decay of the homocharge depends upon the dc electrical conduction process.
