DYNAMIC TESTS OF CONCRETE MEDIAN BARRIER SERIES XVI

RESULTS ARE PRESENTED OF A SERIES OF FULL SCALE DYNAMIC IMPACT TESTS OF A CONCRETE MEDIAN BARRIER DESIGN. THE DESIGN, DEVELOPED BY NEW JERSEY HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT, CONSISTS OF A CONTOURED NONREINFORCED CONCRETE WALL 32 INCHES HIGH. THREE TESTS WERE CONDUCTED AT VARYING SPEEDS AND APPROACH ANGLES. THE TEST BARRIER EFFECTIVELY CONTAINED AND REDIRECTED THE IMPACTING VEHICLE IN ALL THREE TESTS. /AUTHOR/
