Implementation of time domain finite element method to complicated microwave devices

A simple and efficient Time Domain Finite Element (TDFE) method is presented for the analysis of complicated microwave devices. This method is implemented on a general grid which includes arbitrary triangular elements. Two complimentary meshes are considered, one for the electric field and one for the magnetic field. The second mesh is easily established, even in the region of triangular elements, using the integral form of Maxwell's equations. In this approach, it becomes easier to handle arbitrary boundaries and also to include dielectric regions.
