High Resolution DSM Generation from ALOS PRISM - Calibration Updates-

The algorithm for generating digital surface model (DSM) from PRISM was developed for Earth Observation Research Center in Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (EORC/JAXA). The geometric model stability and accuracy of PRISM have been calibrated for the DSM generation. The interior parameters of PRISM geometry are CCD alignment models and calibrated by the self-calibrations with dense ground control points (GCPs). The exterior parameters of PRISM geometry consist of the orbit data measured by the onboard GPSR, the satellite attitude data measured by the onboard star tracker and sensor alignment models. Those exterior parameters have been calibrated with GCPs as well. The accuracies of DSM generated from those PRISM geometric models are presented with the results of the comparison with high accuracy and high resolution reference DSM data sets derived from LiDAR and aerial photo at the various terrain features.
