Tomorrows Engineering Education: The Aalborg Experiment

SUMMARY The experiment with comprehensive project-organized and problem-based engineering education at Aalborg University has now lasted for 20 years. Several independent evaluations show that the graduates are more readily adaptable, with strong qualities in the field of problem-shooting, cooperation, communication and synthesizing project work. Also, their general theoretical and technical knowledge is relatively strong, while their weakness is their fundamentals and relatively low load of handbook knowledge.
