The switched reluctance motor drive for distributed generation

Deregulation in the US power industry is the driving force behind distributed generation. Rural electrification in developing countries is providing additional impetus for the development of these technologies. High speed gas turbine generators have advantages of cost effectiveness, reliability, high power density, low maintenance and offer an efficient solution for distributed generation. The switched reluctance machine is a robust machine technology suited for efficient operation with the gas turbine as a shaft coupled high-speed generator.
