Further Analysis of the Bolus Injection Technique for Resistance Measurements

An analysis of intracranial pressure (ICP) and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) dynamics is essential in order to understand the events that lead to changes in ICP and pathological conditions in the CSF compartment (Kosteljanetz 1987). The bolus injection or pressure-volume index (PVI) technique (Marmarou et al. 1978) is a safe and fast method to determine resistance to outflow of CSF (Rout) and has previously been employed by the author in various clinical conditions (Kosteljanetz 1987).
