An Evidential Reasoning Method for Multiple Attributive Group Decision Making Under Linguistic Setting

Multiple attributive decision-making (MADM) problems especially those using fuzzy language are vast existed in our social life. In order to process information more exactly and help make the best decision, an evidential reasoning method is proposed. The whole passage is divided into four parts. In Sect. 1, some basic introduction of background is presented. Section 2 tells some concepts of this method. Then, detailed steps are provided in Sect. 3. This method first converts the group decision making matrix to a single decision-maker matrix based on majority rule and then makes a transformation to the attribute values in the decision matrix, use evidence theory to deal with the values after conversion and eventually gets the ranking. Finally, a numerical example is used to illustrate the use of the proposed approach in Sect. 4. The result shows the approach is quite simple, effective and easy to calculate.
