Rupture of a congenital aneurysm of the left ventricular apex.

At autopsy, an extremely unusual complication of a rare congenital aneurysm of the apex of the left ventricle was found in an eight and one-half-month-old girl. A rupture of the aneurysm was found and histologic examination revealed severe inflammatory changes in the wall of the aneurysm and also in the myocardium above.
