The Indentation Depth Measured by Servo Gun On-line and the Effect of Electrode Wear on Weld Quality

The feasibility of indentation depth measured by servo gun online was studied.The results show that the return error of servo gun is the main factor that leads to lower indentation depth.The precision of servo gun can meet indentation depth measurement requirement when the return error is compensated.The effect of electrode wear on indentation depth and weld quality was studied for welding galvanization steels.A model included electrode wear factor was established by neural net method to evaluate indentation depth and weld quality,which provided a technological guarantee to inspect weld quality online by servo gun measuring indentation depth.
