Picosecond holography and four-wave mixing in BSO

Abstract Picosecond excitations have been used in order to investigate the efficiency, the rising and the decay times of the gratings induced in BSO, either in two-wave mixing or in degenerate four-wave mixing experiments. The high intensities of the exciting waves reveal the existence of new phenomena, particularly a nonlinear local effect.
