Control systems for a heat exchanger with distributed parameters

The purpose of his paper is to offer a numerical strategy in order to control the thermal processes with distributed parameters. Designing the control system for processes of this kind is usually difficult, mostly because of their non-standard dynamic model representation. Using energy balance equations for the process-a heat exchanger, the model is obtained. The proposed solution is to design a polynomial R-S-T controller, to evaluate its nominal performances in a closed loop configuration, and to refine it using a robust control approach. The system's tolerance to parametric or structural perturbations and to non-linearities of the real distributed process are confirmed by the results in simulation.
