Software tools for simulation and realization of underwater networks

Relevance of underwater acoustic network (UAN) is increasing day by day with its usability in different areas ranging from industrial to defence applications. Since UAN incurs high cost for prototyping and real life testing, it is necessary to evaluate the performance of networks using simulation tools before actual deployment. Open-source network simulators are available for analyzing, designing and testing the behaviour of complex underwater networks. This paper discusses the open source softwares which can be used for both simulation and realisation of underwater networks with same code.
