Overclocking of controller area networks

The bus length in controller area networks is seriously limited due to the particular access technique adopted. An overclocking technique is described which consists of increasing the bit rate for selected portions of the frame. In this way, the throughput can be doubled without worsening either the maximum network extension or the responsiveness.
