A Numerical Methodology for Coupled Diffusive Transfer Modeling: Application to Concrete Subjected to Heating

ABSTRACT Numerical modeling of diffusive transfer is a very interesting scientific research field owing to the possibilities offered by the very fast recent processors. Concrete heating is an example of phenomena that lead to very complex diffusive transfers of heat, air, and water. In this article, a numerical resolution methodology for coupled diffusive transfer problems is presented and applied to the case of concrete heating. The theoretical model is introduced at the beginning, then the simulation results are validated using some experimental measurements.
