A novel two stage inductor fed switch mode rectifier (SMR) topology has been developed and is presented in the paper. Its advantages over other SMR topologies include high input power factor, improved reliability, high power density, minimum input line current harmonic distortion, elimination of the input filter AC capacitors and elimination of the DC link capacitor.
