Bernadette BouchonMeunier is currently a director of research at the National Center for Scientific Research, head of the department of Databases and Machine Learning, member of the board of directors of the Computer Science Laboratory of the University Pierre et Marie Curie (LIP6). Graduate from the Ecole Normale Supérieure at Cachan, she received the degrees of B.Sc. in Mathematics and Computer Science, Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics and D. Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Paris. Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Uncertainty, Fuzziness and Knowledge-based Systems, she is also in the editorial board of Fuzzy Sets and Systems, International Journal of Fuzzy Systems, International Journal of Ap proximate Reasoning, International Journal of Information Technology and Intelligent Computing. She is a cofounder and coexecutive director of the International Conference on Information Processing and Management of Uncertainty in Knowledge-based Systems (IPMU) held every other year since 1986 and technically cosponsored by IEEE Computational Intelligence Society. She was a member of the Computational Intelligence Society Administrative Committee in 2004–2006 and 2007–2009, a member of the IEEE Women in Engineering committee (2007–2008), and a founding member of the Women in Engineering France Section Affinity Group in 2009. Former chair of the Women in Computational Intelligence committee (2004–2007), she has been a member of this committee since then. She has served as the chair of the Graduate Student research Grants subcommittee (2009–2010). She has also been a member of the CIS Fuzzy Systems TC (2003–2010), the CIS Nomination committee (2007, 2009), the CIS Future of Fuzzy Sets and Systems TF (2006–2010), the CIS Machine Learning TF (2008–2010), the CIS Distinguished Lecturers Program committee (2009–2010), the CIS Outstanding Early Career Award committee (2010). A founding member of the Computational Intelligence Society France Chapter in 2003, she has been the chair of this Chapter since 2007. She served as the Program Chair of the IEEE Conference on Fuzzy Systems, Barcelona (2010). She is the General Chair of the IEEE Symposium Series on Computational Intelligence, to be held in Paris in April 2011.
