On Center Frequency of Gabor Filter for PDP-mesh Inspection

This paper studies center frequency of the Gabor filter for inspection of a mesh fabric for the Plasma Display Panel (PDP-mesh). With a simple defect model simulated shift of yarn density, the relation between the Gabor filter output and the center frequency is theoretically derived. When a ratio of amplitude of the filter output is used to visualize the defect, the results do not depend on the shape of texture in the period and they depend only on the center frequency. Simulations for actual PDP-mesh images showed that the center frequency should be set to half of the texture frequency for the visualization.
