For virtual assembly of the mechanical and electrical products in computer, a series of techniques and methods are involved, such as the choice of development tools, the interface between the softwares, parts and components modeling, position transformation of geometric model, collision checking, realization of animation and interactive etc. By research and its application of the technology above, a virtual as-sembly software based on Web3D is successfully developed for the caving hydraulic support, and then, both automatic assembly and step-bystep assembly are achieved with it. So, it indicates that the technology is feasible, the software development was successful, and it can provide some technical support and reference value for virtual assembly of the other products.
