A Self-Survivable WDM-PON Architecture with Centralized Wavelength Monitoring, Protection and Restoration for both Upstream and Downstream Links

A centrally-controlled, bi-directional WDM-PON architecture has been demonstrated. The self- survivable scheme can protect all types of failures in distribution and feeder fibers, remote nodes, and transmitters in CO and ONUs.
