Quasi-three-dimensional Numerical Study of Shell Side of Condenser

By introducing porous media, the article calculate and analyze the steam flow and heat transfer of a two-pass condenser, using the k-e turbulence model and the quasi-three-dimensional numerical calculation method. To addressed the uneven distribution of steam thermal load caused by the impact of angle flare, the LPH in the condenser throat and cooling water temperature changed along the process, the measures installing guide plate to improve flow and heat transfer characteristics have been introduced. The calculation confirms that the steam flow of left pipe bundle is increased by add guide plate. It ensures the steam load of this region and improves the effective use of the heat transfer area. The steam load of each pipe bundle region distributes more uniform along the cooling water. The steam condensation, condenser vacuum and the condenser performance are improved.
