Apparatus and method for combining images

PURPOSE: An apparatus for compositing image and an image composition method are provided to obtain the image of high-sensitivity under the low-illumination condition by additionally using the black and white image signal, which has the wide light accepting band image, to generate the image. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus for compositing image and the image composition method include an image acquisition part, image signal separation unit, brightness combiner, and image recovery part. The image acquisition part(101) creates a first video signal and the second video signal. The first video signal(102) senses the light and has the color information The second video signal(103) comprises the infrared light component without the color information. The image signal separation unit(105) divides the first image signal into the brightness signal and color signal. The brightness combiner(108) combines the brightness signal from the first and second separate brightness signal and generates the combined brightness signal. The image recovery part(109) generates the color image by combining the combined brightness signal and the color signal separated from the first image signal.
