Biomaterials Biocompatibility in Health Problems

According to the book “Definitions in Biomaterials” by D.F. Williams (1987), the title of this chapter “Biomaterials Biocompatibility in Health Problems” can alternatively be formulated as: The requirements set to a “non-viable material used in a medical device, intended to interact with biological systems” in order to “perform with an appropriate host response in a specific application.
