The disclosure relates to a fault prompting method and apparatus, and a fault notification method and apparatus of a water purifying device. The fault prompting method comprises: obtaining using state data of a water purifying device; determining whether a fault occurs at the water purifying device according to the using state data; and if so, generating fault number information based on the fault state of the water purifying device and sending the fault number information to a server and/or a user terminal in communication connection with the water purifying device. According to the disclosure, a user can be informed of fault occurrence of a water purifying device timely.
