Schadgas geregelte Lüftungstechnik für Mastschweine

A good house climate is a basis for healthy animals. The legislative has therefore set thresholds for certain noxious gases in the ordinances for keeping calves and pigs. In co-operation with manufacturers of ventilation technology, a noxious gas controlled ventilation - with NH3 as additional control variable - besides the temperature was developed and successfully tested in a pig fattening house. Simple NH3-sensors, which were tested in the lab at gas mixing station and in practical experiments in the houses, do not seem yet suited for a long term and reliably operating noxious gas controlled ventilation.
