Radar Mono-pulse Tracking Modeling and Simulation of Wideband Range Profile

Wideband imaging radar uses narrow band tracking and wideband imaging by turns, which waste radar resource. In order to use radar resource effectively, once the target has been tracked by narrow band signal, the radar can switch to mono-pulse tracking and imaging of wideband signal.Mono-pulse tracking model of wideband imaging radar was studied, and echo signals model of high speed motion target was offered.Based on the characteristic of multi-component LFM echo signals,Radon-ambiguity transform method was used to chirp rate parameter estimation and motion compensation.Angle, distance and velocity measurement models of wideband range profile were proposed.Target orientation and tracking based on range profile could increase data rate of target tracking, which could enhance maneuverable target tracking capability.Simulation results validate the feasibility and tracking precision of mono-pulse wideband range profile tracking.
