Mobile location tracking by optimal paging zone partitioning

This paper presents a new mobile location tracking strategy in a cellular mobile network. The forward control channel (FOCC) in the cellular mobile network carries the page message and other system order information to a mobile station (MS). The FOCC has been experiencing severe congestion because of overloaded page messages. In order to relieve the bottleneck problem in the FOCC, a new mobile location tracking scheme by optimal paging zone partitioning is developed.
